Leader Magazine
Vol.3.No.2.                    July 1962
RHINE.
We welcome J/Gnr. Key, who has already heartily joined in troop activities. Goodbye to Tprs. Johnstone (Ex J/Cpl) Bayliss and Miller, who are off to join their Regiment, Queen's Royal Irish Hussars. (not an Irishman among them!).
Regimental representatives from the troop this term:
Athletics.
J/Fus. Curtiss, while jumping for the A.A.J.L.R. at Conway became the Welsh junior high jump champion. This J/L was also at the Western Command championship where he jumped very successfully obtaining the highest jump.
Gymnastics.
J/Pte. Tedder took part in the Regimental gymnastics display at Llanbedr.
Tug-of-War.
J/Sig. Clarke, J/Pte. Powney and Hollinshead represented the Regiment.
Go-karting.
In the Go-karting competition against Oswestry, J/L/Cpl MacQueen, J/Pte. Dyde, J/Sig. Hodgkinson, and J/Pte McAuley competed.
It is believed that the cooks have a personal grudge against our troop, probably because we are always last into breakfast. (A sign from the Gods?)
Amusing though it may seem, half the troop has suddenly been struck by an unseen hand, known commonly to the Medical World as Diarrhoea. We give in, we will come earlier in future!
Holly
Eddie
Mick.
