Leader Magazine
Vol.3.No.2.                    July 1962
SUCCESS SUCCESS SUCCESS.
We were delighted to hear that Ex. J/RSM. Watson had passed his Regular Commissions Board. The first rung in the ladder to becoming an Officer. As he was last terms Editor of the 'Crusher' we like to feel that probably some of the Trials and Tribulations experienced during his office helped to give him that extra efficiency necessary for passing: CONGRATULATIONS BRUCE.
Our Tug O'War put up a first class effort at the Western Command Junior Championships V R.A. J/LDRS. Although this was a friendly competition, by winning it we became Western Command Junior Tug O'War Champions of 1962. The Team were as follows:-
Johnstone; Blythe; Levell; Martin; Saxon; Fomes; Humbleby; and Hayward.
Now the story to please any inspiring young editor 'The Beetlecrusher' has now become an official hobby. Starting as from the beginning of next term. The hobby coming under the heading of 'Magazine Production', starts as an official Duke of Edinburghs Award Scheme.
Gone are the days of bulling boots with one hand and writing the Editorial with the other. We hope also to increase our rate of production. This edition will be the last one to be edited between lunch breaks, underneath desks during education, or in the back of a truck on, D.&.M. At last civilised hours and a hut to ourselves. We have a few vacancies for next term, so anyone interested in becoming a reporter, Journalist, Horror Story Writer or Artist, just let the Editor know.
