Leader Magazine
SUMMER 1962.
EDITORIAL.
Having missed out on "Follow My Lead", your editorial staff were disappointed again by Franklin Engleman, who for some reason failed to invite us to appear on "Down Your Way" which visited Towyn in June. Instead J/L/Cpl. Marshall of 'B' Company was invited to take part in the programme, and on Sunday 24th June his voice, together with those of local inhabitants and of Major Streather, of the Outward Bound School, resounded from the nation's radios. After an interview in which J/L/Cpl. Marshall acquitted himself very well, he chose the song "There's Something About a Soldier". All agree, although some have more Something than others.
At least, Mr. Engleman got the name of the Regiment correct, which is more than can be said for some. The Chief Clerk has recently received, in the official mail, some strangely addressed letters. A presumably panicky correspondent wrote to:
THE ALARMS JUNIOR LEADERS REGIMENT,
A more kindly view was taken by the writer of:
THE ALL SAINTS JUNIOR LEADERS REGIMENT,
whilst the third, writing to:
THE ALL ARMS JUNIOR LEADERS REST,
had the wrong idea altogether (or had he .. ?)
We are glad to include in this edition of Leader an article by a member of the civilian staff, Mr. J. Parry, whilst we thank N.A.A.F.I. for making available the photographic block used above the sailing article.
