  Ian MacDonald Gill  
Intelligence Corps
Dies 8th. March 1981.
 
Staff Sergeant Ian MacDonald Gill was killed in a civilian gliding accident at RAF Cranwell on 8 March 1981. He was unmarried. Serving in the Intelligence Corps from 1962-79, he was on the Defence Attaché's staff in Saigon from 1967-69, being present in South Vietnam during the famous ‘Tet Offensive’. He then completed PI training and served with 6 Intelligence Company, at RIC RAF Wittering, and JARIC (UK). He was also in Northern Ireland, Belize, and attached to 22 Locating Regt RA.

PI = photographic interpretation. RIC= Reconnaissance Intelligence Centre. JARIC = Joint Air Reconnaissance Intelligence Centre. 22 Locating Regt RA should read 22 Locating Bty RA.
