Pull Up A Sandbag
Sandbag Reminiscences of Ken Hart Sandbag
It’s A Funny Old World (1).
I was a bands boy in the Royal Artillery Territorial Army and went on the compulsory two week camp to Bideford. I met a girl who promised to fulfill all my pent up adolescent feelings but all I got was a fishy finger smell and a promise of something sexual if I returned. So, having studied the map I went to the Army recruiting office and joined the Royal Signals Boys so I could go to their camp at Newton Abbott. Imagine my surprise then when I got a rail warrant to TONFANAU to join the All Arms Junior Leaders’ Regiment! I don’t think I ever got over that and still wonder if the lovely - what’s her name - is still waiting for me to return? It’s a funny old world in it!
