William 'Bill' A. Slavin |
I served in Normandy Platoon, 'C' Company. The Platoon OC was Lt. Scott Lewis, Platoon Sergeant was Sgt. Simmonds (R Sigs). |
After I left Tonfanau in 1962 I was posted to Aden where I served under a proper git. |
I had a nervous breakdown so I came back to Netly Hospital from where I was medically discharged at the end of 1964. |
For years I went through various jobs always living in the shadow of my discharge, which I wasn't proud of, until I eventually settled down. |
I got married and had a couple of children, who are in some respects slightly eccentric, something like myself - hey ho! |
