Reminiscences of Azim P.H. Somani
Last Man In? | ||
I remember staying a few weeks at the Tonfanau centre as a Ugandan refugee in October 1972. I was a seventeen year old teenager and God; it felt cold having arrived from a country on the equator. But it was all good, the people were great and very helpful.
I imagine the camp is nothing like it was when we stayed there. I clearly remember the cold wind, it was nothing like I had known before. So many years have past - I have written about life in Uganda and a little about the camp, there will be more about our stay in the camp in my follow up novel about life in the UK. |
